Polyester Substrate

We are supplying products which are used for chemical coated polyester packaging of shampoos, 0il, and many more liquid packing. Polyester which exhibits surface tension of 40 to 42 dynes per/cm can be used effectively. Polyester which have 50 dynes per cm on both sides are not suitable for reverse printing.

Solvents/ Thinner

Solvents present in this system are

 

  • Toluene (BP-110°C), MIBK (BP-112°C)
  • Ethyl acetate (BP-78°C), MEK (BP-72°C)

 

Recommended thinner formulations are

 

  • EA:TOL: MIBK- 50:40:10
  • Accelerator: E.A.
  • Retarder: MIBK

 

Thinners are formulated as per the machines RPM and tunnel bore.

  • Particle size: Less than 5 mic.
  • Viscosity: 35+ 5 sec (B-4 ford cup) at 30° C
  • Rate of drying: Moderate
  • Scotch test (45°): OK
  • Rheological Property: Non-thrixotropy
  •  Odour of the dried ink film: NIL

Ink Composition

Printing Ink is a complex mixture of ingredients (Pigments, Resins, Additives & Solvents) that are combined in a specific formulation to meet desired characteristics of the printing application of the ink. The function of the pigment is to provide the coloristic properties of the ink. The resin is added as a dispersion aid and also as a binder to affix the pigment to the substrates. The solvents are transferring the pigment and resin through the press to the substrates also control viscosity and flow of ink. Additives are used for some special characteristics according to application of ink.
